SaaS spend management

SaaS spend management for the apps you run for customers

Most spend tools tell you what your company pays for software. SaaS Sentinel answers a different question: what does each app you operate cost to run, what does each customer earn you, and is the margin getting better or worse?

Why the total bill isn't enough

A single app can draw on a database provider, a hosting platform, AI models, an email service and build credits — each billed separately, often in US dollars, while your customers pay in pounds or euros. Without splitting those costs by app and converting them properly, it is impossible to say which customers are profitable or what a licence really costs you to deliver.

How SaaS Sentinel manages SaaS spend

Every cost, per app

Record hosting, database, AI, email and build spend against the app that causes it, including Lovable credit use per project.

Converted, not mixed

Supplier costs in dollars, revenue in each customer's own currency, combined using daily exchange rates.

Cost per licence

Running cost set against your licence plans gives cost per licence and the break-even number of licences.

Margin over time

Daily snapshots show whether profit and margin are improving, and which apps and customers carry the business.

Cost and health in one place

The same dashboard checks each app every 15 minutes — site availability, response time, CPU, memory, disk and database advisories — so a jump in cost can be read alongside what changed in the system.

Questions

What is SaaS spend management?
SaaS spend management means tracking what your software costs to run, where that money goes and whether it is earning its keep. For teams that build and operate apps for customers, that means knowing the running cost of each app and each customer, not only the total bill.
Which costs does SaaS Sentinel track?
Each app's running costs by component: database, hosting, AI, email, build credits and anything else you add. Costs stay in place month to month until you change or remove them, so totals do not vanish when a new month starts.
How are costs in different currencies handled?
Supplier costs are usually in US dollars, while each customer can be billed in their own currency. SaaS Sentinel converts everything using daily exchange rates, which you can override, before adding figures together, so profit is never worked out from mixed currencies.
How is cost per licence worked out?
An app's monthly running cost is divided by the licences sold on your licence plans. Set against your licence price, this gives the break-even number of licences and the profit margin for each app and customer.
